Seniors Community Park
Before it became Francis Park, the land adjacent to the Fleetwood Community Centre was developed into a Seniors' Community Park to promote an active lifestyle.
When the mother of a Delta resident, Andy Block, moved into one of the seniors' housing complexes in the neighbourhood, Andy approached the Fleetwood Community Association and the City of Surrey with the idea of turning the city-owned land into a wellness circuit.
The new park was dedicated to the community at the annual Fleetwood Festival on September 12, 2009 and was officially opened by the City at a dedication ceremony during Seniors' Week on September 25, 2009.
